What changes the price
Six factors we look at on every quote
We never give a number without understanding the event. These are the levers that move the quote up or down.
Risk profile, not just headcount
We size cover from the Medical Needs Assessment - site, alcohol, demographics, activity, weather and access matter much more than attendance alone.
Staff grade and team size
FREC 3 first aiders, FREC 4 leads, EMTs, paramedics and doctors carry different price points. We match the grade to the clinical risk.
Hours on site
Event-day hours, plus the build-up and breakdown windows where applicable. Last-minute extensions are billed by the hour at agreed rates.
Equipment and treatment area
Some events need a treatment tent, AED, response bag, oxygen or other consumables. Anything beyond standard kit is quoted up front.
Vehicles and transport
Where the MNA shows transfers are foreseeable, we add a response or ambulance vehicle from an appropriately registered provider.
Travel
Within the North West there is no travel charge. Beyond that we add a clear travel supplement, agreed before you book.
Pricing FAQs
- Why isn't there a single fixed rate per first aider?
- Because the same person costs different amounts to deploy depending on the event. A 2-hour low-risk indoor school fair is not the same job as an 8-hour outdoor sports day with alcohol. We quote on what's actually needed - staff, hours, kit, vehicle and travel - so the price reflects the work, not a notional rate.
- What's included in the £156 starting price?
- One FREC 3+ first aider for a low-risk event, plus the Medical Needs Assessment, risk assessment, written event medical plan, liaison and full insurance. It does not include vehicles, multi-day cover or higher-grade clinicians.
- When do I need to pay?
- We invoice with clear payment terms after issuing your booking confirmation. For new clients or larger events we may ask for a deposit; this is set out in your quote.
- What if my event runs late or grows in scope?
- We agree an hourly extension rate up front, so if the event runs over you pay a clear, transparent hourly rate. If scope changes materially before the event we re-quote so there are no surprises.
- Do you charge for cancellation?
- We try to be reasonable, especially where cancellation is outside your control. Default cancellation terms are set out in our terms of service and confirmed in writing on every quote.
