Venue medical services
Nightclub medical cover
LightMed provides nightclub medics for regular club nights, student events and late-night entertainment venues. We plan medical cover around your opening hours, attendance and venue layout, with equipment and staffing matched to the care required.
Our teams work alongside your duty managers, security and welfare staff, giving customers a clear route to medical help and your team an agreed process for responding when someone becomes unwell or injured.
Medical support throughout the night
Busy dancefloors, loud music, low lighting and crowded corridors can make a medical incident harder to manage. The response needs to work within that environment.
We agree how your staff will contact the medical team, where assessment will take place and how to maintain access through the venue. The plan also covers ambulance access and the handover arrangements if someone needs further care.
We supply bodycams to our nightclub staff for safety.
Medical provision can support the assessment and initial management of injuries, sudden illness and alcohol or substance-related presentations, within the deployed team's scope of practice.

Regular nightclub medics and additional event cover
We can arrange cover for recurring Friday and Saturday nights, weekly student nights or an agreed programme of events.
If your needs vary, we can plan additional resources for guest appearances, extended opening hours, freshers' events and other dates that change the venue's risk profile.
Your proposal sets out the hours, staffing and equipment included. For regular cover, we also agree the booking schedule, venue briefing and process for requesting changes.
Choosing the right medical team
We assess the venue before recommending the number and grade of staff. Capacity is one consideration, alongside the layout, audience, incident history, opening hours and the care likely to be needed.
We consider practical questions too. Can one incident occupy the team for a prolonged period? Are there several floors or separate rooms? How will another patient receive help while treatment is underway?
The proposed team may include first responders, emergency care assistants, technicians or registered healthcare professionals. Where paramedic cover is required, we provide HCPC-registered paramedics with an agreed equipment provision and clinical role.
You will know which grades are attending and what the service includes.
Working with security and welfare teams
The medical response works best when staff know how to involve each other.
Before cover starts, we agree communication procedures with your duty manager and security team. This includes requesting assistance, maintaining access to a patient and supporting the medical team where there are safety concerns.
Nightclub teams carry radios so they can stay in contact with your duty manager and security throughout the night.
Where you have welfare staff, we clarify how they refer someone for medical assessment and how ongoing support is coordinated.
Clinical decisions remain with the medical team within their scope of practice. Security and venue management retain their own operational responsibilities, with clear communication between everyone involved.

Suspected spiking and vulnerable customers
Suspected spiking and concerns about a customer's welfare need a clear response.
We agree how the medical team will support your venue's procedures, including access to assessment, escalation and coordination with the duty manager, welfare staff and emergency services where needed.
Our role is to assess and care for the person within the team's scope. Medical assessment does not establish whether spiking has occurred, and any testing or forensic arrangements are separate from the medical-cover service.
We also plan how concerns about a vulnerable person will be raised and handed over appropriately.
A practical medical room
A suitable treatment space gives the team somewhere to assess patients away from the noise and activity of the dancefloor.
We can review your existing first aid room or help identify an appropriate space. We look at privacy, lighting, hygiene facilities and access, including the route for ambulance crews if a patient needs to leave on a stretcher.
Depending on the agreed provision, we can supply treatment furniture, emergency equipment and consumables. For recurring contracts, we can also arrange equipment storage, replenishment and checks.
Cleaning and clinical waste responsibilities are agreed before the service begins.
What happens when someone needs further care?
The team assesses the patient and arranges appropriate escalation within its clinical scope. This may include requesting an emergency ambulance or supporting another suitable referral pathway.
We agree how venue staff will assist with access, directions and handover. We also plan how the remaining medical cover will be managed while the team is committed to a patient.
Any dedicated ambulance or transport provision is specified separately in the proposal.
Care at closing time
A patient may still need care when the music stops.
Before deployment, we agree how ongoing treatment and handover will be managed beyond the scheduled finish. This includes access to the medical room, the availability of a duty manager and relevant security support, and how additional time is charged.
The arrangements give the venue and medical team a shared understanding of their responsibilities through closing and dispersal.
Clear records and useful reporting
Our team documents patient care and raises operational concerns through the agreed venue contact.
For regular contracts, we can provide anonymised summaries covering activity, busy periods and recurring issues. These reviews can help identify changes needed to the staffing, room location or response arrangements.
Routine venue reporting is separate from confidential clinical records.

ViewFrequently asked questions
Can we book medics for every Friday and Saturday?
Yes. We can develop a recurring proposal around your opening schedule. The agreement will set out the team, hours, equipment and process for adding or changing dates.
Can our door staff provide the medical cover?
We review the medical provision separately from security staffing. Door staff have their own responsibilities, and an incident can require sustained patient care. We agree how the teams work together and recommend suitable dedicated medical resources.
Do we need a paramedic every night?
That depends on the assessed needs of the venue. We consider the likely presentations, previous incidents and level of clinical decision-making required. We explain the recommended grade rather than applying the same staffing model to every nightclub.
Is medical equipment included?
Your quotation specifies the equipment included with the team. For regular cover, we can also agree equipment that remains at the venue, with clear storage, checking and replenishment responsibilities.
Can you help us set up a medical room?
Yes. We can assess the available space and propose suitable furniture, equipment and facilities. The aim is a practical treatment area that your staff and attending ambulance crews can access.
Can we book individual nights before arranging regular cover?
Yes. We can discuss individual dates or an initial agreed period, followed by a review of the service and your ongoing requirements. Each booking is subject to assessment and availability.
How much does nightclub medical cover cost?
The cost depends on the team, hours, location and equipment required. We provide a written quotation with any setup costs and arrangements for additional time clearly identified.
