First Aid at Work (FAW) - Level 3
The HSE-recognised three-day workplace qualification for designated first aiders in higher-risk environments.
First Aid at Work is the longer-format workplace qualification appropriate for higher-risk settings or larger workforces, where deeper coverage and more capable first aiders are indicated by your risk assessment. It is regulated on the RQF and recognised by the HSE for workplace first aid arrangements.

What we’ll cover
- Role and responsibilities of a workplace first aider
- Primary survey and unresponsive casualty management
- CPR and AED use
- Choking, shock, severe bleeding and burns
- Wider injuries and illnesses including head, spinal, fractures
- Common medical emergencies
What you’ll leave with
- Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work (RQF)
- Three-year certificate (with annual refresher recommended)
- Confidence to act as the named workplace first aider
